7 electric cars under Rs 15 lakh to watch this festive season in India

Electric Car Under Rs 15 Lakh: The festive season has begun in India, and many car companies are offering various offers on petrol, diesel, and electric vehicle variants. If you're considering purchasing an electric car in the near future, here's a list of some cars that come equipped with powerful features.

One of Tata's most popular electric vehicles is the Tata Nexon EV. This mid-range car's ex-showroom price starts at Rs 12.49 lakh, while its top-of-the-line variant goes up to Rs 17.19 lakh. Charging time is 56 minutes using a fast DC charger and 4.18 hours using a standard charger, while the larger battery variant takes 40 minutes using a fast DC charger and 6.36 hours using a standard charger.

The car is priced between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh. It offers a range of up to 315 kilometres. With a DC fast charger, it takes about 59 minutes to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent, while using a standard AC home charger (3.3 kW), it takes about 9 hours and 24 minutes to charge from 0-100 per cent.

The Tata Punch is a very popular car in the petrol variant; however, the electric variant is also a good option. It is available in two variants: Standard Range and Long Range, priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.94 lakh. The standard range produces 82 hp and comes with a 25 kWh battery, while the long range produces 122 hp and comes with a 35 kWh battery.

The 25 kWh battery offers a claimed range of 315 km, while the 35 kWh "long range" battery offers a claimed range of 421 km. Charging from 10 per cent to 80 per cent takes approximately 56 minutes with a 50 kW DC fast charger, and from 10 per cent to 100 per cent takes approximately 3.6 to 5 hours with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger.

Another popular electric vehicle offered by Tata Motors is the Tata Tiago EV. Priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.44 lakh, it is available in two variants: Medium and Long Range. The vehicle offers a range of 223 km and 293 km on a single charge.

The recently launched MG Windsor EV is available in two variants: the Windsor EV and the Windsor EV Pro. Both variants produce a maximum power of 136 bhp and also have battery options. Priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 18.39 lakh, these vehicles offer a range of 332 kilometers to 449 kilometers. However, with Battery as a Service (BaaS), the price drops to Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.39 lakh.

For a 38 kWh battery, DC fast charging from 0-80 per cent takes about 50-55 minutes at 45-60 kW, while AC home charging from 0-100 per cent takes about 6.5-7 hours at 7.4 kW

The MG Comet EV is a compact electric car from Morris Garages, known for its small dimensions (less than 3 meters in length). It offers a range of up to 230 km on a single charge and is priced between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh. However, with BaaS (Battery as a Service), its price ranges from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.63 lakh.

Priced between Rs 12.90 lakh and Rs 13.53 lakh, the Citroen eC3 comes with a 29.2kWh battery pack and offers a range of up to 246 kilometres on a single charge. Charging time is up to 10 hours, but fast DC charging takes 57 minutes.
