8th Pay Commission Estimates for Level 4 Employees: As per the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix system, Level 4 employees in the central government are upper division clerks (UDC), tax assistants, technicians, junior accountants, head constables, etc. They form a large workable force of government employees, playing important roles at basic levels in the functioning of government machinery. With the 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) around the corner, Level 4 employees have also been eagerly waiting for their salary revision.

The 8th Pay Commission is yet to be formed. Once established, it will prepare its recommendation report for salary revision, which will be kept in the Parliament for approval.

Once the Cabinet gives its go-ahead and the recommendations are implemented, salaries will be revised.

The entire process may take more than a year.

The salary increment will most likely be based on the fitment factor, the multiplier for salary and pension revisions in the 6th as well as 7th pay commissions.

The fitment factor may be in the range of 1.92-2.86 for the 8th CPC as per various projections and estimates.

In this write-up, we will show how central government Level 4 employees basic salaries may be revised at 1.92, 2.08, 2.28, 2.57, and 2.86 fitment factors.
