Aamir Khan's team has addressed the growing controversy surrounding a viral poster that depicted the Bollywood superstar as Guru Nanak, dismissing the image as "fake and AI-generated." The poster, which circulated widely on social media and YouTube, led to widespread outrage, especially within the Sikh community, after it was falsely linked to an upcoming project featuring Aamir Khan as the founder of Sikhism.

Aamir Khan fake AI generated poster on Guru Nanak

In an official statement, a spokesperson for Aamir Khan clarified, "The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don't fall for fake news." The statement was issued to put to rest any speculations regarding the authenticity of the project and to assure the public that the actor would never be involved in such a controversial or disrespectful role.

The fake poster first emerged on a YouTube channel impersonating T-Series, which falsely suggested that Aamir Khan would be portraying Guru Nanak in a film. This caused significant backlash, particularly from the Sikh community, leading BJP Punjab spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal and others to strongly condemn the alleged project. The situation escalated to the point where a formal complaint was filed with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), accusing the content of provoking religious sentiments and disrupting community harmony.

Aamir Khan’s team was swift to publicly condemn the teaser, stating that it was a fan-edited image designed to mislead and misinform audiences. The actor, known for his thoughtful and respectful approach to sensitive cultural and religious issues, was clearly distressed by the fake campaign that had spread online. His spokesperson reiterated that Aamir Khan, throughout his career, has always demonstrated the utmost respect for different religions and communities, and the fabricated image was not something he had endorsed or even been involved in.

This incident comes at a time when Aamir Khan has been on a break since the release of his last film Laal Singh Chaddha, which underperformed at the box office. The actor is gearing up for his big-screen comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual sequel to his 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is a life-of-the-sports drama and is scheduled to release on June 20. Additionally, Aamir has two more projects in the pipeline: a comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and a superhero film with renowned director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
