Actor Ajith Kumar, who was recently honoured with the Padma Bhushan—India's third-highest civilian award—opened up about his future in cinema and addressed speculation around his retirement plans.
During an interview with India Today, the Good Bad Ugly actor candidly spoke about life being unpredictable and his desire to live it to the fullest.
When asked about his retirement, he said, “You never know! It’s not about me planning when to retire, I could be forced into retirement. I don’t want to take anything for granted. People complain about life. To wake up and feel alive itself is a blessing."
Ajith further emphasised that his perspective on life comes from personal experiences, including undergoing surgeries and injuries, as well as having close friends and family who are cancer survivors. Emphasizing that he wasn't trying to be philosophical, he expressed a deep appreciation for the value of simply being alive and said he intends to make the most of every moment.
He then shed light on his usual approach to life and said, "When my time comes, I want my maker to think, ‘I gave this soul a life and he sucked the juice of it, used every second of it in a positive way.’ That’s how I want to live life, passionately, and not waste time at all."
