Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar. Celebrated annually on the third day of the bright half of the Vaishakha month, this sacred occasion is believed to bring eternal prosperity, good fortune, and spiritual merit. In 2025, Akshaya Tritiya will be observed with great devotion by millions of people across India on Wednesday, April 30.

Akshaya Tritiya Vrat 2025 Date and Muhurat Time 

The word Akshaya means "never diminishing." As per Hindu belief, any good deed, charitable act, or auspicious work performed on this day is said to bring endless blessings. It is considered an ideal time to begin new ventures, invest in gold, or start long-term projects. The day is also associated with several mythological events—such as the birth of Lord Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and the beginning of the Treta Yuga.

This day also marks the occasion when Sudama visited Lord Krishna with a humble gift, which led to the Lord blessing him with immense wealth and prosperity. It is said that the Mahabharata’s sacred scripture, the Akshaya Patra, was granted to the Pandavas on this very day by Lord Krishna.
