Amazon and Flipkart sake: Why the iPhone 15 isn’t the one you should look to buy

Published on 03/05/2025 07:36 AM

Let’s be honest: sale season can get overwhelming. The iPhone 15 is popping up everywhere—Flipkart, Amazon, billboards—often with a tempting discount. If you’re in the market for a new iPhone during this sale season, you might want to hit pause before clicking Buy Now on the iPhone 15. While it’s a really capable phone, there are a few key reasons why it’s not the smartest buy—especially with what the iPhone 16 lineup has to offer

The processor is already behind the curve

The iPhone 15 runs on the A16 Bionic chip, which, while solid, first launched with the iPhone 14 Pro. That means you’re essentially buying a chip that’s two years old. If you’re someone who keeps your phone for 3–4 years (or more), starting off with dated hardware means you’re already a step behind. Apps get heavier, updates get more demanding—and you don’t want your phone gasping for breath halfway through its life.

No Apple Intelligence, now or ever

You may not care about AI today. You might even think, “I don’t use that stuff.” But Apple isn’t treating this like a gimmick. Apple Intelligence is going to be the foundation for smarter features baked into your iPhone experience—from writing emails to managing your day. The iPhone 15 will never get access to this, and that’s not just a software issue—it’s a hardware limitation. The iPhone 16e, on the other hand, is expected to support it out of the box. If you’re making a long-term investment, wouldn’t you want something that grows with you?

Dynamic Island and dual cameras aren’t enough anymore

Sure, Dynamic Island is fun—and the camera is good—but let’s call it what it is: not future-proof. The iPhone 16e, even if it’s not a Pro model, offers a better overall value proposition. Better internals, longer support, and compatibility with features Apple is building for the future.

The iPhone 16e is simply the better starter iPhone

Now, the notch perhaps looks a bit dated and the single camera might appear slightly ancient but it is still a new generation iPhone. If you’re switching from Android or buying your first iPhone, the iPhone 16e is worth a dekko. It gets you most of Apple’s latest features, without charging you Pro-level prices. And with better longevity, it’s a smarter pick than the iPhone 15—even if that one looks like a deal right now.
