With the commissioning of this unit, Ambuja Cements’ total installed cement capacity now stands at 104.45 MTPA. "This development marks a significant milestone in our journey of growth and excellence,” the company stated in a regulatory filing.
Fourth Quarter Results
For the March quarter, Ambuja Cements reported revenue growth of 6% at ₹9,889 crore compared to the December quarter's ₹8,415 crore. A CNBC-TV18 poll had pegged the figure at ₹9,933 crore. Its net profit declined 55% to ₹956.4 crore from ₹2,115.3 crore in the December quarter.

The numbers are not comparable on a year-on-year basis, as the company had made acquisitions of assets like Sanghi and Penna Cements. The results of its units, ACC and Sanghi Industries, have already been reported.
Ambuja's Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹1,867 crore, a growth of 9% compared to the December quarter's ₹799 crore. The figure was also higher than the CNBC-TV18 poll of ₹1,600 crore. EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 18.9%, compared to the CNBC-TV18 poll of 16.11%.
Consolidated volumes for the quarter grew by 13% during the quarter from the previous year to 18.7 MT, the highest-ever sales volume in a quarter. Analysts were working with a growth number between 15% and 19% on a year-on-year basis. Volumes received a boost due to the acquired capacity and seasonal tailwinds.
