Anil Singhvi’s Navratna SIP Pick: Buy Asahi India Glass on dips, target points to 65% upside

Published on 26/09/2025 10:52 AM

Market guru Anil Singhvi, in his Navratna SIP advisory, has recommended Asahi India Glass Ltd. (CMP Rs 910) as a buy for medium- to long-term investors. He advised building positions through a systematic investment plan (SIP) on every 15 per cent fall, with a holding period of one to three years.

Singhvi has set three key targets for the stock:

Target 1: Rs 1,050

Add Zee Business as a Preferred Source

Target 2: Rs 1,200

Target 3: Rs 1,500

These targets reflect Singhvi’s confidence in the company’s growth potential, market leadership, and expansion plans.

Asahi India Glass operates in three major segments: Automotive, Consumer, and Building & Architecture. Singhvi highlighted the company’s dominance in automotive glass, commanding a 70 per cent market share in passenger and commercial vehicles, and its position as the second-largest architectural glass producer in India.

Singhvi emphasised the strength of Asahi India Glass’s global promoter, AGC Inc., Japan, which provides technological expertise and strategic backing, enhancing the company’s competitive edge.

On 18 September 2025, the company successfully raised Rs 1,000 crore via a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) at Rs 844 per share, with 24 institutional investors participating. The funds are intended for new product launches and balance sheet strengthening, supporting Singhvi’s view of sustained growth.

According to Singhvi, Asahi India Glass has delivered a five-year revenue CAGR of 12 per cent and profit CAGR of 18 per cent. Profit margins are expected to improve in the 15–20 per cent range, while FY25 capex of Rs 1,268 crore marks the highest in the company’s history, reflecting ongoing investment in expansion.

With a strong position in automotive and architectural glass, robust promoter support, healthy financial growth, and aggressive expansion plans, Singhvi believes Asahi India Glass is well-poised for medium- to long-term investors. He recommends systematic buying on dips to take advantage of potential upside.
