The Enforcement Directorate's Hyderabad office has launched searches at 20 locations in various parts of the country in connection with the Rs 3,500-crore Andhra Pradesh liquor scam. The premises being searched by investigators include those linked to entities or individuals suspected of facilitating kickback payments using bogus or inflated invoices, sources told Zee Business.
According to the sources, the following entities are part of the investigations: The ED raids follow investigations that began earlier this year in the large-scale corruption- and money laundering-related case linked to the state's liquor policy during the 2019-24 period during the erstwhile YSR Congress Party government.

It has been actively investigating the money trail, probing distilleries and intermediaries in several states.
Investigators found kickbacks laundered through a network of low-profile individuals, shell companies, office employees and hawala operators to conceal the illicit origin of funds.
