Apple has released the iOS 26 Beta 3 — third developer beta for iOS 26, which will continue to revolve through testing and polishing prior to an official public rollout this fall. This newest update for iPhone and iPad includes a host of bug fixes, including a solution to a critical issue from the first beta, in addition to a variety of new features for developers and users.

One of the significant new additions is Recovery Assistant. It is a feature that can assist an individual in recovering a device that does not start up correctly by diagnosing and repairing issues automatically.

For users with accessibility in mind, the App Store now features accessibility nutrition labels on product pages, providing you with a clear overview of an app's accessibility features before you download. Moreover, journaling suggestions have been improved, now syncing to iPad through iCloud and delivering smarter, context-based notifications.

Major bugs have also been addressed in this update. Most notably, Apple has fixed a serious issue in which some iPhone 15 and 16 models would show a low battery symbol and become unresponsive after updating to the first beta.

Other resolved issues include a bug that removed the depth effect on the lock screen wallpaper, incorrect text rendering in the Apple TV app, and a glitch that caused CarPlay to fail to load album artwork.

As a beta, the software still has known issues. Testers may experience bugs in CarPlay navigation, crashes when searching in the Photos app, and various visual glitches on the lock screen.

This update allows developers to test their apps based on the new APIs and system changes, ensuring a seamless experience when iOS 26 launches for everyone later this year.
