In a conversation with ANI, the Minister of Environment, Bhupender Yadav, on Monday, pointed out the crucial necessity of the Aravalli ecological system, declaring that "there will be no alternative whatsoever."

By pointing out the Aravallis geological significance and the methods of their conservation and protection, Yadav proclaimed, "The most ancient geological units are existing in Aravali, but the only thing to maintain its shape is green fall, its barrier."

Not only the afforestation around but "What is nature is ecology. In nature, grass refers to the ecological system, and there are shrubs, and there are plant medicines."

Moreover, he talked about the International Black Cat Alliance's role that the Environment Ministry has set up.

"Bigger Cat Alliance doesn't imply that we confine our activities only to tiger preservation. Conservation to be done, but a tiger is capable of living in any place only if the prey beneath it, the ecological system beneath it is strong.

The Minister, while rejecting the idea of afforestation as a solution, stated, "We have examined the local vegetation of each district in the whole Aravalli region, the native trees, and in plants and vegetation, roughly speaking, from a small grass to a gigantic tree, the entire ecosystem is present.

He also mockingly challenged the opposition's accusations of association with the mining mafia and assured that mining that is going on in the Aravali range would soon cease and only a very small area would be allotted for the activity, saying that the mountain range is under such firm ecological protection that it will not be able to bear any disturbance.

"The illegal mining is the biggest issue in the Aravalli area. The Supreme Court has laid down this definition to put an end to the illegal mining, which is still under review. With this all-encompassing definition and strict provisions, 90 per cent of the area is completely secured," the Minister said.

Moreover, he pointed out that the Supreme Court had recognized the government's Green Aravali project and threw out the allegations of lack of clarity, stating, "There is no grey zone. In the event that there is a grey area, the case is already in the court; go and exhibit it there. The issue is still in the Supreme Court as of now. If it is, why then, are you creating confusion in the public?"

The Minister emphasized that the government is taking care of the whole ecological ecosystem as part of the Aravalli ranges' protection initiative.

The Government flatly states that the ecology of Aravallis is not under any immediate threat.Ongoing afforestation, eco-sensitive zone notifications, and strict monitoring of mining and urban activities ensure that the Aravallis continue to serve as a natural heritage and ecological shield for the nation.
