Arete Group to invest Rs 1,200 crore to develop industrial park at Dahej in Gujarat

Gujarat-based real estate developer Arete Group will invest Rs 1,200 crore to develop the second phase of its industrial park in Dahej in Gujarat.

The second phase of the Payal Industrial Park (PIP), which is located at Dahej, within the Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR), was launched earlier last week. The second phase of the industrial park of the Arete Group spread across 850 acres.

“Arete Group will invest approximately Rs 1,200 crore in the overall Infrastructure development in the park. Phase-2 builds upon the robust infrastructure and industrial momentum of Phase 1, which attracted over Rs 12,000 crore in capital investment. With Phase 2, Arete Group expects to surpass the previous investment benchmark, unlocking opportunities across specialty chemicals, advanced materials, green energy, and allied manufacturing sectors,” the company said in a statement on April 30.

The company also inaugurated Central Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at PIP—a critical infrastructure milestone towards sustainable industrialization. The CETP has a capacity of 2.5 MLD (expandable to 50 MLD) and it will help the industry in waste management initiatives.

As part of its green roadmap, Arete Group has also partnered with Fourier Earth, a Palo Alto-based hydrogen startup, to generate green hydrogen using modular, on-site units powered by renewable energy.

Siraj Saiyed, Director, Arete Group, said that with the launch of Phase-2 and the inauguration of our CETP, Arete Group reaffirms its commitment to building a world-class, future-ready, and ESG-aligned industrial ecosystem.

“PIP is not just a park, it is a platform that empowers global and Indian manufacturers with infrastructure that is sustainable, smart, and self-sufficient. We are grateful for the unwavering support of the Government of Gujarat and inspired by our Prime Minister’s vision of industrial transformation,” he said.

The company also said that the Phase-2 of the industrial park also includes 80 acres dedicated to housing for workers, creating over 1,000 residential units through a mix of dormitories, studio apartments, and 1-BHK configurations.

The Arete Group will also plant 25,000 trees and develop over 250 acres of green spaces—including parks, grasslands, and urban forests—over the next decade. The industrial park is committed to becoming carbon neutral in operational emissions by 2040, the company said.
