Axis Bank Q1FY26 Results: Net profit falls 3.8% YoY to Rs 5,806 crore; NII rises marginally

Axis Bank on Thursday reported a 3.8 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in its net profit for the June quarter (Q1FY26), coming in at Rs 5,806.14 crore, down from Rs 6,034.64 crore in the same period last year. The profit dip is likely attributed to higher provisioning or subdued non-interest income.

The bank’s net interest income (NII) — a key metric of core lending operations — grew marginally by 0.8 per cent to Rs 13,560 crore, compared to Rs 13,448 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Despite posting steady operational numbers, shares of Axis Bank settled nearly 1 per cent lower on the NSE at Rs 1,161, down 0.63 per cent on Thursday. The stock reacted tepidly to the earnings announcement as investors may have been expecting stronger growth.
