Bajaj Finance shares were under selling pressure in the early trade ahead of the board meeting on Tuesday. The board will announce the quarterly results of the March quarter today and is likely to consider dividend, stock split and bonus shares.
At around 10:50 am, the shares of Bajaj Finance Ltd quoted at Rs 9,018 per share on the NSE, down 0.82 percent. Earlier in the day, it a low of Rs 8,960. The counter has been losing for the last four days and is down 4 percent in the period.
The board is likely to consider a proposal of sub-division of shares. In an exchange filing, it said "split of existing equity shares having face value of Rs. 2/- each, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013."
It will also consider a proposal for issue of bonus shares, the company informed the exchanges.
Earlier, the company reported an 18 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,308 crore for the December quarter. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 3,639 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose to Rs 18,058 crore for the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year from Rs 14,166 crore in the year-ago period, Bajaj Finance said in a regulatory filing.
