The telecom giant said it will hold a 70% stake in the non-banking financial company, while the promoter group, Bharti Enterprises Limited, will own the remaining 30%.
The development comes days after Airtel Money received its NBFC licence from the Reserve Bank of India on February 13, 2026.
Airtel said its lending service provider platform has already disbursed over ₹9,000 crore, backed by underwriting models and real-time risk monitoring systems. The company has built a credit engine over the past two years using its digital platform, data analytics capabilities and distribution reach.
Commenting of development, Gopal Vittal, Executive Vice Chairman, Bharti Airtel said, “the success of our LSP platform over the past two years is proof of our ability to combine technology, data, and customer trust to deliver impact at a national scale." He added that the NBFC expansion reflects its ambition to build a “differentiated, future-ready digital lending business”.
The company said the NBFC’s disbursement journey will be integrated with the existing platform, while maintaining operational segregation.
