(BHEL) has received a ₹13,500 crore order from NTPC Ltd. for the main plant package of the 3x800 MW Telangana Stage-II supercritical thermal power project, the company said in an exchange filing on Monday, March 30.
The Notification of Award (NOA) pertains to the project located in the Peddapalli district of Telangana.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and testing of the main plant package, covering boiler, turbine and generator (BTG) components, along with associated civil and structural works.

BHEL revealed that the contract was awarded through an international competitive bidding process.
The company had emerged as the successful bidder for the project in October 2024 and had received a limited notice to proceed in November 2024 to initiate basic engineering work.
The PSU informed the exchanges that the project is to be completed within 62 months from the date of the award.
Both BHEL and NTPC are central public sector enterprises, but the company clarified that the contract does not fall under related party transactions.
Last month, the company secured an order worth ₹1,200-1,500 crore from Hindalco Industries for the Aditya Expansion Project Phase II in Sambalpur district of Odisha.
