Rail Neer Price Cut: In a move aimed at giving relief to passengers, the Ministry of Railways has announced a reduction in the price of packaged drinking water sold under the Rail Neer brand.

From September 22, 2025, a 1-litre Rail Neer bottle will cost Rs 14 instead of Rs 15, while a 500 ml bottle will cost Rs 9 instead of Rs 10.

The decision comes after the Railway Board, with the concurrence of the Finance (Commercial) Directorate, issued a circular revising the maximum retail price of Rail Neer and other shortlisted packaged drinking water brands sold in railway stations and trains.

With Indian Railways being the world’s largest rail network and millions of people travelling daily, water is among the most essential items passengers purchase, especially during the summer. This price reduction will directly benefit travellers, particularly those on long-distance journeys.

The move is also seen as part of Railways’ passenger-friendly initiatives, as Rail Neer prices had remained unchanged for several years.
