Indian equity benchmarks opened marginally lower on Monday, February 2, as investors remained cautious after the Budget-led volatility.
The BSE Sensex was trading at 80,681.09 at around 9:16 am, down 41.85 points, or 0.05 per cent. The index opened at 80,555.68, compared with its previous close of 80,722.94, and recovered some early losses in initial trade.
The NSE Nifty 50 was also under mild pressure. The benchmark index was trading at 24,762.35, down 63.10 points, or 0.25 per cent. Nifty had opened lower at 24,796.50, against its previous close of 24,825.45.
