Here are five key things investors should know before subscribing.

The IPO of Canara HSBC Life Insurance is a Rs 2,516 crore offer for sale (OFS).

The company has fixed a price band of Rs 100 to Rs 106 per share, valuing the insurer at about Rs 10,000 crore at the upper end of the range.

The issue closes on October 14, 2025, and the stock is expected to list on the exchanges on October 17, 2025.

Investors can apply for a minimum lot of 140 shares and multiples thereof.

Ahead of the issue opening, the company successfully raised Rs 750.32 crore from 33 anchor investors by allotting around 7.08 crore equity shares at Rs 106 per share.

Big names such as ICICI Prudential MF, HDFC MF, DSP MF, WhiteOak Capital, Mirae Asset MF, Allianz Global Investors, Amundi Funds, Matthews India Fund, Tata MF, Motilal Oswal MF, and Societe Generale participated in the anchor book.

Unlike some recent IPOs that aimed to raise fresh capital, the Canara HSBC Life IPO is entirely an OFS of 23.75 crore shares by promoters and an investor.

This means the company will not receive any funds from the IPO proceeds.

Instead, the money will go to the selling shareholders. Canara Bank will sell about 13.77 crore shares, while Punjab National Bank will offload 9.5 crore shares. Similarly, HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific) Holdings will sell 47.5 lakh shares

Canara HSBC Life Insurance is a joint venture incorporated in 2007. It is promoted by Canara Bank, which holds a 51 per cent stake, and HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific) Holdings, which owns 26 per cent.

Over the years, the insurer has grown into a significant bank-led private player in India’s life insurance sector.

With bancassurance partnerships through Canara Bank and Punjab National Bank, the company has a strong distribution reach across India.

The IPO follows the standard allocation pattern: 50 per cent of shares for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), 35 per cent for retail investors, and 15 per cent for non-institutional investors (NIIs).

For retail investors, the relatively low price band makes the issue more accessible compared to some of the other recent large IPOs in the insurance space.
