Chapra Election Result 2025: In the Chapra Assembly seat election, BJP candidate Chhoti Kumari has won, defeating RJD’s Khesari Lal Yadav (Shatrughan Yadav) by a margin of 7,600 votes. Chhoti Kumari secured 86,845 votes, while Khesari Lal Yadav received 79,245 votes. Independent candidate Rakhi Gupta trailed with 11,488 votes, and Jai Prakash Singh of the Jan Suraaj Party got 3,433 votes.
The Chapra constituency, part of Bihar’s Saran district, has been a BJP stronghold for two consecutive terms under former MLA Dr. C. N. Gupta, who had won the seat comfortably in 2015 and 2020. With this victory, BJP continues its dominance in Chapra, reinforcing its position in the region.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has registered a historic victory, winning 202 out of 243 seats. The NDA’s five constituents — BJP (89), JD(U) (85), LJP (Ram Vilas) (19), HAMS (5), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (4) — sailed past the majority mark with a strong mandate. The Mahagathbandhan managed only 34 seats, with RJD winning 25, INC 6, CPI(ML)(L) 2, and CPI(M) 1, while other parties like AIMIM, IIP, and BSP shared 7 seats. This sweeping win cements the NDA’s dominance in Bihar politics.
Bihar recorded a 57.3 per cent voter turnout, slightly higher than 2020. The electoral contest has largely been between the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan and the NDA alliance comprising JD(U), BJP, LJP(RV), HAMS and others.
