Delhi experienced a cold and foggy Monday morning with dense fog reducing visibility across several areas, making travel slow and cautious during the early hours of the day.

The air quality problem continued to exist because the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained between the moderate and poor levels, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported moderate fog in several areas of Delhi.

The areas of Dhaula Kuan Akshardham Dwarka and Mother Teresa Crescent Marg experienced foggy conditions during the early morning hours.

Air quality readings taken around 7 AM showed mixed levels across the city. The AQI measurement at Dwarka Sectors 3 6 and 10 reached 243, which placed these areas in the poor air quality range.

Mahipalpur reported an AQI of 134, which falls under the 'moderate' category. The air quality at Mother Teresa Crescent Marg reached moderate levels with an AQI measurement of 118.

The air quality showed improvement compared to the previous day, but it still caused health problems for children and elderly people and individuals who had breathing difficulties.

The foggy conditions were not limited to Delhi alone. The National Capital Region (NCR) experienced misty weather conditions during the early morning hours.

Ghaziabad, in particular, recorded an AQI of 259, placing it firmly in the ‘poor’ category. The residents in the area experienced decreased visibility while they moved through the morning hours.

The air quality in Mumbai showed better results than other locations which experienced lower air quality. The CPCB data shows that Marine Drive has an AQI value of 126 which belongs to the 'moderate' air quality category.

The morning fog did not stop people from walking along the famous promenade because they wanted to experience the pleasant weather while the city began its daily activities.

The IMD forecasted “fog or mist in the morning with a mainly clear sky later in the day” for Delhi and surrounding regions.

The airports reported different fog conditions which ranged from very dense to shallow fog between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM. The fog conditions led to disruptions in flight operations during the early morning period.

On Sunday, Delhi had worse air conditions because the AQI reached 318 which fell into the 'very poor' air quality category.

The IMD issued a yellow alert which warned about possible thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour.

The weather conditions in Haryana and Chandigarh areas will be similar to each other. The weather report from Karnal, Haryana, indicated that a hailstorm occurred during the early morning hours.

The IMD reported that the rainfall and storm activity marked the beginning of an active weather period which would bring thunderstorms and lightning and strong winds and hail to multiple regions. Light rain was also reported in parts of Delhi and nearby NCR areas during the early morning hours.
