Delhi Rains Live Updates: Delhi and its surrounding regions witnessed heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds in the early hours of Friday. Several places experienced traffic congestion and waterlogging. Several flights were delayed and diverted from Delhi and airlines issued an advisory for the travellers.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued an advisory for the people of Delhi, asking them to exercise caution and to avoid travel if possible.

IMD said uprooting of trees and braking of branches is expected. Major and minor impacts to Papaya trees and Banyan trees are also expected.

IMD has also warned that there could be possible damage to plantations and crops due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Vulnerable structures, people and cattle are also at risk of damage.

Several parts of the national capital experienced waterlogging after heavy rainfall lashed parts of Delhi-NCR. Visuals surfaced on ANI.

IMD has issued an advisory in regards with the heavy rainfall that lashed the national capital on Friday. IMD has asked people to keep windows and doors closed and to not travel.

Delhi Airport said, "Due to inclement weather conditions and thunderstorms in Delhi, some flights have been impacted at Delhi Airport. Our on-ground teams are diligently working with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient passenger experience. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information."
