Delhi Schools Targeted Again: Fresh bomb threat emails prompt emergency response

Published on 20/08/2025 12:24 PM

Delhi School Bomb Threat: A fresh series of bomb threats has created panic in Delhi as several schools received alarming emails early Wednesday morning. Following this, the Delhi Police and fire services swung into immediate and coordinated action. Officials said two schools - SKV Malviya Nagar and Andhra School in Prasad Nagar - received the threatening emails at around 7:40 am and 7:42 am respectively. The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) immediately dispatched search teams, bomb disposal units and police personnel to these locations to ensure safety.

Currently, police and other cooperating agencies are conducting an intensive search operation at the spot, as per IANS reported. The DFS has also warned that more schools could be targeted, suggesting a broader investigation is being pursued.

The incident has once again sparked concern among students, parents and school staff, after a similar bomb threat was received just a few days ago. On August 18, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka was evacuated after a bomb threat call at 7:00 am, and authorities conducted an extensive search before declaring the alert to be a hoax.

This latest wave of threats is reminiscent of the disturbing events of last month, when more than 50 schools in Delhi received similar email threats. This sparked widespread panic, leading many schools to temporarily switch to online education and triggering large-scale emergency responses, including dog squads, fire brigades and bomb disposal teams. Fortunately, all these threats were found to be false.

In all cases, evacuation and on-site safety checks remain standard procedure to protect students and staff before schools resume normal activities.

The Delhi Police is actively investigating the source of the recent emails, and cyber crime units are trying to trace the person or group behind this recurring pattern of disruptive threats.

Officials have urged calm but advised caution, stressing that the safety of children and school communities is their top priority.
