Dow Jones opens lower as uncertainty over Iran ceasefire keeps markets on edgeDow Jones, S and P 500 and Nasdaq slip after prior relief rally as tensions persist between Washington, Tehran and the US Israeli alliance while oil and Treasury yields rise.By Bhupendra Paintola  March 24, 2026, 7:24:26 PM IST (Updated)1 Min ReadUS stocks slipped at the open on Tuesday, giving up momentum after a relief rally in the previous session that was fuelled by hopes of easing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the decline, falling 0.8% at the open, while the S&P 500 dropped around 0.6%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.5%, as tech stocks also saw mild selling pressure.

Oil prices saw some volatility as initial optimism around a potential de-escalation weighed on crude, before prices edged higher again amid continued tensions between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance.

West Texas Intermediate rose over 4% to move back above $90 a barrel, while Brent traded above $103.
