Among the top gainers on the Nifty were:

SBI Life Insurance
Bharat Electronics
Sun Pharma
JSW Steel
On the flip side, the major laggards included:
Shriram Finance
HCL Technologies
Eicher Motors
UltraTech Cement
Hindustan Unilever (HUL)
Sectorally, the rally was broad-based with the exception of the IT pack, which ended marginally lower.
The top performing sectors were:
Oil & Gas
Pharma
PSU Banks
Metals
Realty
All these indices gained between 1–3 percent, supporting the benchmark indices.
The BSE Midcap index jumped 1.3 percent, while the Smallcap index added 0.4 percent, indicating strength in broader markets as well.
With strong buying interest across key sectors and heavyweight support from Reliance Industries and financial stocks, the markets continued their bullish momentum.
Investors now await major earnings announcements and global cues for further direction.
"The domestic market recouped from the losses incurred during the last two days of the previous week, which stemmed from the border tensions. While sustained buying from FIIs and better results from RIL also boosted the investor sentiment. A weakening dollar and inflationary pressure in the US may attract FIIs into the domestic market. However, investors are advised to exercise caution in the near term as the market is yet to discount the impact of retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. For a new investor, holding a position on cash and debt of about 40% with a bottom-up approach on equity based on the earnings outcome will be a beneficial strategy" according to Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited.
