With the first snowfall, Leh has become a picturesque white wonderland.

Photos taken from Leh showed not only trees but also houses and fences completely covered with snow, as reported by ANI.

IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) reported that Leh's minimum temperature was -2°C.

On the other hand, Sonamarg in the Kashmir Valley observed the first snowfall of the season on Sunday, thus the region was completely covered with white.

Simultaneously, Srinagar is under a cold wave with foggy mornings.

In Sonamarg, Ganderbal district, locals and tourists had a great time as the place looked like a winter fairyland with the snowfall covering everything including vehicles, buildings, and roads.

The snow kept falling and some people engaged in fun activities like snowball fights and morning walks while admiring the picturesque beauty around.

One of the tourists commented on the snow with pleasure. An Assam visitor said, "Our day started with the snow and we enjoyed it after going out of the hotel in the morning.

We have no choice but to wear two layers of clothes and caps due to the cold.

It was the same thought that crossed our minds while coming here and everyone would have a more enjoyable visit if snow came.

Gagan, another tourist from Punjab, stated that he is a regular visitor and that the possibility of snow this year seems very real.

Moreover, he even suggested tourists to come to the city because of the nice people there. “I have visited this place many times, but last year there was no snow and no rain."

"His comment indicated that the attacks had made tourists shy away from the place, but no one was harmed since the area was safe."

On the other hand, IMD reported that there is a -4°C drop in temperature in Srinagar since December 20 as the cold wave persists in the region.

The fog is very heavy as seen in the photographs around Dal Lake, where boat rides and sightseeing are still going on.
