The dip came as domestic passenger numbers remained flat while international traffic rose modestly.

Domestic passenger traffic was largely unchanged compared with the same period last year, while international traffic increased by 2.8% on-year. Aircraft movements during the month stood at 58,813, registering a 4.2% year-on-year increase, according to the company’s disclosure.

At the individual airport level, Hyderabad continued its strong growth momentum with a 4.8% rise in total passenger traffic, supported by both domestic and international segments. Goa’s Manohar International Airport also reported a 3.5% increase in traffic. In contrast, Delhi Airport saw a 7.3% drop in passenger numbers, reflecting ongoing disruptions linked to runway upgrades and airspace restrictions.

Year-to-date, GMR Airports has handled 4.88 crore passengers in FY26, a marginal 0.5% rise over the previous year.

The company noted that traffic has sustained at 9-10 million passengers every month since January 2024, with expectations of improvement once Delhi Airport’s upgraded Runway 10/28 reopens and refurbished Terminal 2 becomes operational in October 2025.

In terms of operational highlights, Hyderabad Airport achieved record passenger traffic and crossed the 10 million domestic passenger milestone in FY26 so far. Meanwhile, GMR also commenced operations of Delhi Duty Free in September, making it the largest duty-free operator in India and South Asia.
