The fire had occurred at a tobacco processing and storage facility located in Prakasam district, where the company processes and stores its tobacco leaf inventory.

In an update filed under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements, Godfrey Phillips said it submitted the insurance claim to the insurer on December 23, 2025, and the claim is currently under assessment as per policy conditions .

The company added that the actual loss from the incident is expected to be within the amount claimed. It also clarified that since the fire occurred at a third-party facility, there has been no impact on production at its own manufacturing units. Further, the company does not expect the incident to have any material impact on its financials.

Godfrey Phillips had earlier informed stock exchanges about the fire incident in October and said it would provide updates on any material developments. The latest filing fulfils that commitment, outlining the insurance recovery process and potential financial exposure.

The company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of cigarettes and other consumer products and relies on third-party facilities for certain stages of tobacco processing and storage.
