Gold intraday: The yellow metal price continued to trade steady for the second consecutive day, holding firm despite mixed global cues. On Monday, gold rose around Rs 1,21,899 per 10 grams, marking a 0.55 per cent intraday rise, supported by investors demand and positive sentiment.
Gold kept its optimism throughout the day on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), small falling at around 4:00 PM (IST) to Rs 1,21,232 but then bouncing back. The yellow metal has shown resilience by recovering from last week’s small price adjustment.
On October 28, 2025, gold traded at around Rs 1,20,106, before slipping by about Rs 1,000 the following day. However, the metal soon regained momentum, stabilizing near the Rs 1.22 lakh mark, reflecting steady buying in the physical market ahead of the festive season.
The increase in domestic prices has been noted despite a modest fall in gold rates worldwide, which means the demand for gold in the local market is still very high and investors' trust in the metals is maintained.
Silver also witnessed an upward movement during the session. The white metal surged to an intraday high of Rs 1,49,747 per kilogram, before easing slightly to Rs 1,49,358, up 0.72 per cent for the day. The lowest intraday level was seen at Rs 1,48,479 per kilogram.
The consistent price performance of silver highlights firm industrial demand and renewed interest from traders following recent volatility.
In the international market, gold was trading around $4,008.28 per troy ounce, up 0.13 per cent, while silver was at $48.69 per troy ounce, gaining 0.10 per cent.
Throughout the day, gold rose by $5.35, whereas silver saw a marginal increase of $0.06.

According to Manoj Kumar Jain, Commodity Analyst, “Gold and silver ended lower in international markets on Friday, with December gold futures closing at$4,013.30 per troy ounce (down 0.49 per cent) and silver futures at $48.37 per troy ounce (down 0.93 per cent).”
He added that on the MCX, gold December futures settled at Rs 1,21,232 per 10 grams (down 0.23 per cent), while silver December futures closed at Rs 1,48,287 per kilogram (down 0.37 per cent).
“Both metals witnessed high volatility last week amid easing US-China tensions and a stronger dollar index. The US Federal Reserve’s statement indicating no guarantee of rate cuts in December also limited upside momentum,” Jain noted.
Despite short-term fluctuations, analysts expect gold and silver to remain supported in the near term due to festive season demand, geopolitical uncertainties, and global monetary policy cues.
