Google CEO Sundar Pichai is hoping that Google’s AI tool, Gemini, will soon be available as a built-in feature on iPhones. While testifying in court during Google’s ongoing antitrust trial, Pichai revealed that he has been in talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook and is optimistic about finalizing a deal by mid-2025, according to Bloomberg.

This potential partnership would mean Gemini could be added to Apple Intelligence, Apple’s AI framework, possibly with the launch of iOS 19 or one of its updates later this year. Apple is expected to unveil iOS 19 at its annual WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) on June 9, making it a likely time for any new partnerships or AI announcements.

If the deal goes through, iPhone users might soon be able to interact with Gemini much like they currently do with ChatGPT, which is already integrated into iOS 18. Users could ask Siri to “talk to Gemini,” or Siri might automatically turn to Gemini for help with specific queries it’s good at answering.

This move will work well Google, as it would put its AI tool directly into millions of Apple devices. For Apple, it means offering more AI choices to users—without being locked into just one provider.

While the deal isn’t confirmed yet, Pichai’s comments suggest both tech giants are serious about making it happen. If successful, it could change how iPhone users experience AI in their everyday apps.
