Bharat Taxi App: The cab-hailing app Bharat Taxi, supported by the government, is experiencing a strong early success just a few days after being launched. The application is fast attracting users all over India and is considered a new rival to ride-hailing services that are already popular such as Ola and Uber.

Bharat Taxi is backed by the Ministry of Cooperation and is run by Sahkar Taxi Cooperative Limited. The app's main objectives are to provide clear pricing, higher pay for drivers, and safer rides for customers. The initial statistics indicate that the app is getting noticed by both the users and the drivers.

According to a post shared by the Ministry of Cooperation on social media platform X, Bharat Taxi has already crossed 4 lakh registered customers. Over the past two days, the app has seen 40,000 to 45,000 new registrations every day, showing strong interest soon after launch.

The app is also performing well on app stores. Bharat Taxi is currently ranked 9th on the Google Play Store and 13th on Apple’s App Store. Its driver app has reached 20th position on the Play Store, reflecting growing interest from drivers as well.

The ministry said this phase is part of preparations for a larger nationwide rollout under the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”, led by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

The Bharat Taxi app is now available on both Android and iOS platforms. Early use suggests that it is beginning to make space for itself in India’s crowded ride-hailing market.

Bharat Taxi app offers a clean and simple interface. Booking a city ride is easy, even for first-time users. The app also provides extra services, such as metro ticket bookings and cab rentals for up to 12 hours.

Safety features are clearly highlighted. The application allows users to make a call to the police, notify emergency contacts, reach out to a safety team, or even set off a siren. Besides, the system also works with police-verified drivers to enhance safety for the riders.

A very short time is needed to complete the registration which consists only of essential information such as a phone number, a person's name, and an email address.

The main features that Bharat Taxi promises to deliver is its driver-first approach. The company states that it does not take any commission from its drivers, hence going to get all the amounts that passengers pay.

Furthermore, the platform also plans to build designated areas for pick-up and drop-off at airports which will later be extended to other transport terminals.

The first users of the service have pointed out certain problems. The fares are not always less than what other platforms charge, and there are uneven pricing like the same fare for cabs with and without AC. It indicates that the development of the app is in progress.

Bharat Taxi is facing these initial challenges but still, it is carving out a place for itself in the already crowded Indian ride-hailing market, thanks to strong government support and increasing public interest.
