Copper shares, including Hindustan Copper, Vedanta and Hindalco will be in focus after US President Donald Trump announced that a 50 per cent tariff may be imposed on copper imports. On the Trump's statement, the price of copper in the US market climbed 13 per cent, while LME remained steady.
On Tuesday, the US administration announced a 50 per cent tariff on the commodity, after having levied similar levy on other metals including steel and aluminium.
However, with respect to tariffs on copper, there has been no specification with regard to the timeline.
