The nominations for the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) were officially announced and it's Kendrick Lamar who dominates the list with 10 nominations.

His chart-topping track Not Like Us, which became a cultural moment amid his public feud with Drake, earned nods in multiple categories including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. The song’s release even led to a legal battle, with Drake suing Universal Music Group for defamation, as reported by Reuters.

Post Malone follows with eight nominations, branching into country music with his album F-1 Trillion, nominated for Favourite Country Album. He's also up for Favourite Male Country Artist, marking his transition from pop/rock and hip-hop into new genre territory.

Trailing close behind are Billie Eilish, Shaboozey, and Chappell Roan, each receiving seven nominations. Chappell Roan, notably, is a first-time nominee, earning recognition for her critically acclaimed album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Taylor Swift, already the most-awarded artist in AMAs history, has secured six nominations this year, including for The Tortured Poets Department. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter —which previously won Album of the Year at the Grammys—is now in the race for both Album of the Year and Favourite Country Album. She’s also nominated for Favourite Female Country Artist.

The AMAs consider metrics such as Billboard chart rankings, streaming performance, and album sales. The ceremony will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 26, coinciding with Memorial Day. Jennifer Lopez returns as the host and is also set to deliver a live performance—marking her second time hosting after 2015.
