'I cast my vote in India...': Pakistan national, asked to leave India after Pahalgam terror attack, makes shocking claim

A Pakistani national, named Osama, who, like so many others, was asked to leave India after the Pahalgam terror attack, has made a shocking claim. He said that he wants the Indian government to reconsider its decision to deport Pakistani nationals. He also claimed that he has been able to vote in India.

"I appeal to the government to give us some time. I have cast my vote here, I have my ration card. I have completed my Class 10th and 12th here, what will I do there? What is my future there?" Osama was heard saying in a video shared by the news agency ANI.

He said that he is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree and has been staying in India for the last 17 years. "I wanted to appear for job interviews after my examinations," he said.

Several people were seen arriving at the Attari border checkpost after the Indian government set a strict deadline for Pakistani nationals to leave India and return to Pakistan. This happened in the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack - which claimed 26 lives in Kashmir Valley's Pahalgam on April 22.

Apart from banning Pakistani nationals in India, the Indian government also suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan - to retaliate against the attack.
