"We expect NIMs to compress a little more in the next quarter, after that it will depend on RBI actions and overall liquidity," the lender's Executive Director Sandeep Batra said during the earnings call.

ICICI Bank's Net Interest Margins during the June quarter narrowed by seven basis points from the March quarter to 4.34% from 4.41% in March. On a year-on-year basis, NIMs narrowed by two basis points from the 4.36% level in March.

Batra further said that the 10% growth in its Net Interest Income (NII) from the same quarter last year was due to repricing of loans due to rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of India, and subsequent reduction in deposit rates, among other factors.

Batra attributed the increase in fresh slippages to be in-line with what the management was expecting.

Shares of ICICI Bank ended 0.6% higher on Friday at ₹1,426.7.
