India Live Updates: On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the Char Dham Yatra 2025 begins as the doors of Gangotri Dham have opened, hence kickstarting the Char Dham Yatra on April 30.

14 people were reported dead after a massive fire broke out in a hotel in Kolkata. Authorities have said that the bodies of the deceased have been recovered.

Meanwhile, in another unfortunate incident, seven people have been reported dead in a wall collapse incident in Andhra Pradesh. The unfortunate incident happened in Andhra Pradesh's Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. Casualties were reported after a 20-foot-long stretch collapsed during the Chandanotsavam festival.

Amritsar police have dismantled a terror module led by Jeevan Fauzi, following an encounter with the group. According to Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, the operation was carried out under the Punjab CM’s zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime and drugs. Five members of the module, aged between 19 and 24—including a juvenile—have been apprehended. The police recovered a hand grenade, a pistol, and several cartridges. Preliminary investigations revealed the group had previously delivered grenade consignments near border areas.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi turned off the lights at his residence as part of a protest organized by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025.
