Former India captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly looked in no mood of diplomacy and urged BCCI to end all cricketing ties with Pakistan post the gruesome incident in Kashmir's Pahalgam. Speaking to reporters in reportedly Kolkata, the Indian cricketing legend expressed that India should stop engaging with Pakistan even in the ICC and Asian tournaments.

Ganguly was responding to cricketing relations between the two countries, during which the ex-cricketer highlighted the incidents of terrorism taking place in India almost every year. "100 per cent, India should do this (break ties with Pakistan). Strict action should be taken. It has turned out to be a joke that such things are happening every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," Ganguly was quoted as saying by India Today.

At least 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed when terrorists opened fire at Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam on Tuesday. In wake of the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack, India announced several diplomatic measures including suspension of the Indus Water Treaty of 1960 and the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for Pakistani nationals, expulsion of Pakistani military attaches, and closing the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Attari among others. In its response, Pakistan announced shutting its airspace to all Indian airlines and suspended trade with New Delhi.

Meanwhile, batting maestro Sunil Gavaskar was visibly enraged on live television while addressing the tragedy ahead of the IPL 2025 encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. "I send my condolences to all the families who have lost their loved and dear ones. It has effected all of us Indians....I just wanna ask a question to all the perpetrators, and all those who backed them (the terrorists), their handlers - What has all this fighting achieved? For the last 78 years, not one millimetre of land has exchanged hands, is it? So for the next 78,000 years, nothing is going change. So why don't we live in peace instead, and make our country strong? So that is my appeal," Gavaskar said on Star Sports.
