ICAI CA Exams Postponed: As Indo-Pak war erupted after Pakistan's failed attempts to target several bordering regions in India, several counter measures were taken by Indian authorities in a systematic and timely manner to ensure the safety of citizens. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced its decision to postpone the remaining Chartered Accountant (CA) examinations indefinitely. 

The exams were originally scheduled to take place from May 9 to May 14. 

The Examination Department of the charter issuer said the new dates for the remaining exams will be announced in due course. 

India retaliated after the Indian defence forces successfully blocked Pakistani military's multi-pronged attacks on Indian territory. Later, India retaliated in full force, causing serious damage in several parts of its bordering neighbour.  

According to the ICAI, which conducts CA exams and is also responsible for formulating accounting standards in the country, the final, intermatteediate and post qualification-level course exams stand postponed. 

These exams are part of the International Taxation-Assessment Test (INTT AT) programme.

The CA body said its move is in view of the "tense and security situation" in the country. 

The ICAI has advised the impacted students to track updates on its website (icai.org) for updates. 

Established by The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No.XXXVIII of 1949), the ICAI is a statutory body mainly responsible for the regulation and development of the CA profession in the country. Functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the ICAI is the largest professional body of CAs in the world.
