Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have left everyone shocked as the franchise players and staff have reached Maldives, in middle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Just for the confirmation, there is no IPL match scheduled to take place overseas but SRH have opted for a mid-season holiday as their next game is in a week's time against the Gujarat Titans.

SRH shared a video of the team's arrival in the Maldives, captioned: "Sun, sea, and a team retreat for our Risers in the Maldives!"

Players like Heinrich Klaasen and Brydon Carse were seen arriving at the holiday destination with their families whereas Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and more were seen enjoying solo.

SRH will fly to Ahmedabad for their match against Gujarat Titans on May 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Interestingly, SRH aren’t the only team taking a mid-season break in the Maldives during IPL 2025. Earlier, Delhi Capitals mentor Kevin Pietersen also flew to the island nation for a short getaway. He missed Delhi Capitals' game against Mumbai Indians but returned in time for their clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

SRH have five matches remaining in the IPL 2025 season. In order to have a shot at qualifying, SRH need to win all of them. The Pat Cummins-led side currently have six points and they will eye to finish with 16 points.

SRH played their last game against the Chennai Super Kings on April 25. Hyderabad won that contest by 5 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. SRH chased down 155 after Ishan Kishan gave his side a decent start after the openers were dismissed cheaply. Later on, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kamindu Mendis showed great composure to guide their side over the line in the chase.
