Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a limited-period discount on flight ticket bookings in partnership with airline IndiGo, to commemorate its 26th Foundation Day. The Navratna PSU -- the only firm authorised by the Indian Railways to manage food services onboard trains and facilitate online railway ticket bookings on its network -- will celebrate the event on September 27, which coincides with the World Tourism Day 2025. 

IRCTC has announced an "Exclusive 3-Day Offer of Promotional Discount" on flight ticket bookings for its customers.

The platform will be offering discounts of up to 15 per cent on domestic as well as international flight bookings made during this period.

In order to avail this deal, users will have to make their bookings during this period using IRCTC’s air ticketing platform, air.irctc.co.in, or its mobile app, IRCTC Air, between September 26 and September 28 (both dates inclusive), according to a statement. 

This offer will only apply to IndiGo flights for travel between October 2 and March 31, 2026, it noted.

Advance purchase 

Users will have to purchase tickets at least seven days in advance in order to avail the offer, according to IRCTC. 

IRCTC said the promotion is its way of "giving back to our customers and making travel dreams a reality". 

IRCTC's promotional offer comes days after India kicked off the festive season, which typically starts in October and extends until February.

This period sees higher demand for travel bookings -- ranging from flight and railway tickets to stays -- as people plan their annual vacations. 

Airline, hospitality and ticketing businesses announce special offers and discounts to tap more customers during this high demand period.
