ITC Q2FY26 Results: ITC Ltd reported a 2 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2025, aided by steady performance in its core cigarette business. Consolidated net profit came in at Rs 5,180 crore, compared with Rs 5,078 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Operating revenue declined 2 per cent to Rs 19,382 crore from Rs 19,859 crore a year ago, reflecting weakness in the non-cigarette FMCG and hotels segments.

The company’s cigarette business remained the key earnings driver, with revenue rising 6.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 8,723 crore, against Rs 8,177 crore in the same quarter last year. Higher sales volumes and stable pricing supported the segment, which continues to deliver strong margins despite a competitive operating environment.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 6,252 crore, up 2.1 per cent year-on-year, while operating margin improved to 34.7 per cent from 32.8 per cent in Q2FY25.

In a key development, the board approved the voluntary delisting of ITC’s ordinary shares from the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE). The company said the move is in accordance with Regulations 5 and 6 of the SEBI (Delisting of Equity Shares) Regulations, 2021.

“The ordinary shares of the company will continue to remain listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE Limited, providing nationwide trading facilities,” ITC said in its filing.

The company also announced the appointment of Amitabh Kant, India’s former G20 Sherpa and ex-CEO of NITI Aayog, as Independent Director for a term of five years starting January 1, 2026. Industry observers view the appointment as a move to bring policy depth and governance experience to the board at a time when ITC is strengthening its long-term diversification strategy.

Shares of ITC ended 0.5 per cent lower at Rs 419.35 apiece on the NSE on Thursday.
