Her latest look for a luxury brand shoot was no exception. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, Kareena stunned in a regal blue gown by Mizoram-based designer Hannah Khiangte.

Taking pride in the indie creation, Rhea Kapoor shared more about the designer in her caption: “Hannah Khiangte is a designer from Aizawl, Mizoram, who launched her label in 2013 to spotlight the intricate puan weaves of her heritage. Her brand works closely with Mizo women artisans, blending tradition with contemporary design. Together, they preserve and modernize Mizo textile culture for a global audience.”

Rhea further elaborated on Kareena’s custom look: “This look draws inspiration from the traditional Mizo puan, a treasured textile that symbolizes identity, heritage, and celebration. Handwoven by women artisans, the garment blends classic motifs with androgynous tailoring and punk-era influences. Designed with Kareena in mind, it reflects her bold, evolving style while spotlighting the rich cultural legacy of Mizoram. Showcasing the puan on Kareena, we bring this heirloom to a global stage with pride and purpose.”

Indeed, the creation strikes the perfect balance between haute couture and indigenous craftsmanship. It aligns seamlessly with Kareena’s personal style—ever-evolving, yet deeply rooted in tradition.
