Kia Carens Clavis EV Bookings Open: Kia on Monday, July 21, announced that official bookings for its first India-made 7-seater electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV, will begin tomorrow, July 22. Interested customers can book the electric vehicle through the official website of Kia India and Kia dealerships across the country by paying a booking amount of Rs 25,000.
Commenting on the announcement, Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, said, "Being our first electric vehicle inspired by India, it is a 7-seater EV that reflects our vision to offer smart, sustainable, and accessible EV solutions with a true value for money proposition."
"It will ensure complete peace of mind with our capable EV ecosystem—including the K-Charge feature on MyKia app and a robust network of 250+ EV-ready workshops including 100+ dealerships equipped with DC fast charger. We’re excited to open bookings and invite customers to bring home their Carens Clavis EV," he added.
The Carens Clavis EV comes with two battery options - 42kWh with ARAI-certified 404km range (MIDC full) and the 51.4kWh battery pack with an ARAI-certified range of 490km (MIDC full).
According to the company, this EV is capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes via a 100 kW DC charger. The electric motors offer 126kW and 99kW outputs with 255Nm of torque, and there are four levels of regenerative braking system using paddle shifters.
The Carens Clavis EV is available in 4 variants - HTK Plus, HTX, HTX ER, and HTX Plus ER and 6 color options- Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, and Ivory Silver Matte.
The Carens Clavis EV comes with 67.62 cm (26.62”) dual panoramic display panel, smart infotainment-temperature control swap switch, 64-color ambient cabin lighting, one-touch electric tumble for second-row seats, boss mode for added convenience, and a dual pane panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety, the car is equipped with ADAS Level 2, which has a robust set of 20 autonomous systems and 18 high-safety features. Apart from this, the car also has a robust set of 90 connected car features, including smartphone integration, intelligent navigation, and remote control capabilities.
Kia launched the Carans Clavis EV in India last week at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh.
