The stock has gained after the order win announcement.
L&T classifies orders in the ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore range as 'major'.
The contracts are to establish electricity grid system elements, the company said.
In India, the company has received an order for the design, supply and construction of two 220 kV gas insulated substations in the Durgapur-Raniganj-Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal.
The scope of work also includes associated transmission line segments with advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers. These grid modernisation jobs will provide a stable voltage profile and enhance the reliability of power networks for infrastructure and industrial projects in the region, L&T said.
In the Middle East, the company has won orders from key utilities for the turnkey construction of five substations and more than 250km transmission lines. These projects are located in three countries in the region and are up to 500 kV level. In one of the projects, the scope of work includes supplying and installing a 400 kV underground cable system, L&T said.
A day prior, two business verticals of L&T the heavy civil infrastructure and heavy engineering - jointly won a 'significant' order from the Centre's atomic energy department to establish the LIGO India Observatory in Hingoli district, Maharashtra.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro are trading 1.8% higher on Wednesday after the order win, currently trading at ₹4,335.8. The stock is trading close to its 52-week high level of ₹4,440, which it had hit on Tuesday, before reversing course and ending with losses of close to 4%, in-line with the sell-off in the market.
