Mahanagar Gas rolls out PNG benefits, waives charges to boost adoptionMahanagar Gas rolls out incentives for PNG users, including bill benefits and fee waivers, while assuring uninterrupted supply of PNG and CNG; shares rise nearly 2% in trade.By Sheersh Kapoor  March 24, 2026, 2:35:10 PM IST (Published)2 Min ReadMahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) on Tuesday reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted supply of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for households and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for transport, while announcing a series of consumer-focused incentives to drive adoption.

The company said it has taken steps to maintain consistent supply across its geographical areas, in line with the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order, 2026, which accords top priority to domestic PNG and CNG. MGL operates across multiple regions including Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Latur and Dharashiv.

To accelerate PNG adoption, MGL has introduced several benefits for domestic consumers. These include free gas worth ₹500 for new registrations between March 16 and April 30, a ₹1,000 bill adjustment in buildings with over 60% penetration, and a ₹500 instant discount for web-based registrations.

The company has also waived minimum charges during periods of non-usage and said it plans to introduce zero upfront registration charges, where customers pay only after conversion, alongside flexible payment plans.

For commercial users, MGL has waived registration charges and will undertake downstream infrastructure at its own cost.
