He said the West Asia situation is driving focus on supply concerns and alternatives. “It is quite obvious that pretty much the entire world would be having its focus not only on energy security going forward, but also on alternative energy,” he noted, adding that interest in green energy is likely to return.

Raychaudhuri said India remains part of the energy transition, though leadership in renewable manufacturing lies elsewhere. “India has been kind of a reasonable success story as far as this energy transition is concerned,” he said, while pointing to stronger positioning in North Asia.

On markets, he cautioned that recent gains may be overlooking risks. “Markets believe that this is over, we are back to the pre-war situation,” he said, warning that uncertainty around supply disruptions persists.

He added that crude oil remains a key variable for India. “I would actually be a bit cautious, especially in the context of India, which is a huge oil importer,” he said, highlighting the policy trade-off between inflation and fiscal management if prices remain elevated.Catch all the latest updates from the stock market hereContinue ReadingTagsbanksBSEcrude oil pricesEnergyfund managersgeopolitical tensionsManishi RaychaudhuriMarket analystsmetalsniftyNSErenewable energysensex
