Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced a recall of 39,506 units of its Grand Vitara SUV due to a potential defect in the vehicle’s speedometer assembly that could cause the fuel level indicator and warning light to display incorrect information.
According to a company communication, the affected vehicles were manufactured between December 9, 2024, and April 29, 2025. The automaker said it suspects that a component in the speedometer assembly may fail to accurately reflect fuel status, which could mislead drivers about the actual fuel level.
Maruti Suzuki has stated that owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted directly by authorised dealer workshops. The company will carry out inspection and replacement of the faulty part free of cost.
The recall is part of the company’s routine safety and quality checks. Maruti Suzuki has requested stock exchanges to take the information on record.
The notice was signed by Sanjeev Grover, Executive Officer & Company Secretary, dated November 14, 2025.
