Announced on February 27, the deal covers the provision of managed specialist engineering and cloud platform services across the Home Office’s biometrics portfolio, supporting areas, including policing, forensics, justice, migration and borders policy.
Under the Home Office Biometrics Application Development and Environment Service (HADES) 2026 programme, Mastek will support, maintain and enhance the department’s Biometrics Services Gateway and National DNA Database systems. These platforms underpin services such as passports, visas, study and asylum routes, DNA search and match casework, and enforcement operations.
The contract, which includes two optional extension years, is aimed at enabling the Home Office biometrics programme to deliver biometrics-related services to users within the department and policing, as well as more widely across the UK government and with international partners. The services are designed to support multiple user groups, data sets, biometric modalities and stakeholder requirements.
Mastek said it expects the engagement to expand as the department undertakes significant and complex upgrades to the Biometrics Services Gateway and National DNA Database systems in the coming years.
Abhishek Singh, President UKI and Europe at Mastek, said the award strengthens the company’s partnership with the Home Office and reflects confidence in its expertise in biometrics integration systems, DNA search and match technologies, and advanced engineering capabilities.
He added that the company would operate secure, compliant and resilient services for the department around the clock at a national scale, supporting collaboration across government and with international partners.
Q3 Profit Rises
Mastek Limited reported revenue from operations of ₹905.7 crore in Q3FY26, up 4.2% year-on-year, though down 3.7% sequentially due to furloughs and project timing impacts. Operating EBITDA margin improved 60 basis points quarter-on-quarter to 16.1%, while net profit rose 11.2% sequentially to ₹108.4 crore, with PAT margin expanding 149 basis points to 11.7%. The company added 17 new clients during the quarter, closed over 26 AI-led deals, and saw its 12-month order backlog grow 24.3% year-on-year to ₹2,658.5 crore.
