Nayara Energy appoints Teymur Abasguliyev as new CEOA veteran with more than two decades of global energy leadership, Teymur most recently served as CFO of SOCAR Türkiye Enerji A.Ş., where he oversaw governance, financing, M&As and large-scale restructuring.By Poonam Behura August 26, 2025, 10:04:08 PM IST (Updated)1 Min ReadIndian refiner Nayara Energy has appointed Teymur Abasguliyev as its chief executive officer, with his tenure set to commence in September, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
A veteran with more than two decades of global energy leadership, Teymur most recently served as CFO of SOCAR Türkiye Enerji A.Ş., where he oversaw governance, financing, M&As and large-scale restructuring.
A Fellow of the UK Association of Certified Public Accountants, he began his career at the Center for Strategic and International Studies before spending 17 years at PwC, rising to partner. He has since led multi-billion-dollar investments and transformation projects across refining, petrochemicals, gas distribution, trading and infrastructure.
Nayara thanked outgoing CEO Sergey Denisov for steering the company through a period of change.
