For several months, Kim Soo Hyun has been under close scrutiny due to claims that he had a romantic relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron that allegedly lasted six years starting in 2015.

But according to a recent report published on April 26 by the Korean media outlet Money Today, Kim Soo Hyun was actually involved in a three-year relationship with an idol actress beginning in or around 2016, which coincided with his time in the military from 2017 to 2019.

The family of Kim Sae Ron claimed that their daughter dated Kim Soo Hyun when she was still a minor, and this information directly contradicts their claims.

The report, based on statements from an industry insider, stated that information about Kim Soo Hyun’s relationship with the unnamed actress A "contradicts the earlier claim made by the late actress Kim Sae Ron, who said she dated Kim Soo Hyun from late 2015 until July 2021.”

It is believed that Kim Soo Hyun and actress A grew close through their association with management agency KEYEAST, which he joined in 2010 after departing M.Boat.

Later, in 2019, Kim Soo Hyun left KEYEAST to start his own agency, GOLDMEDALIST, with his cousin Lee Sa Rang.

According to reports, the relationship with actress A ended in early 2019, just a few months before Kim completed his military duties. Money Today quoted the insider saying, “It was a well-known secret in the entertainment business that Kim Soo Hyun and actress A were dating, so it’s unlikely he was seeing Kim Sae Ron at the same time.”

The insider further suggested that "Kim Soo Hyun’s side is refraining from commenting to keep actress A out of it all." Despite the article appearing favourable towards Kim Soo Hyun, public reaction remained largely sceptical, with many questioning the credibility of the anonymous source. Some netizens even speculated that the report inadvertently supported allegations that Kim Soo Hyun maintained multiple secret relationships, including with Kim Sae Ron.

However, the article itself also attempted to clarify the situation, concluding, "Kim Soo Hyun only dated Kim Sae Ron for one year, from 2019 to 2020.”
